- Information about a woman will not be discussed with a third party unless the client specifically requests HWF to do so
- Counselling will be centred on a woman’s feelings about her immediate or long-term situation
- HWF aims in providing support to acknowledge women’s reality and their feelings, to empathise and enable women to move towards changing their situations and /or feelings
- HWF promotes advocacy, assisting women to speak and act for themselves
